One of my families favorite games is Pirates by Sid Meier. It allows you to be a pirate.

You have the choice of starting out working for the English, the Dutch, the French, or the Spanish.

Once you decide your country you wish to work for then you choose the time period or era that you wish to start in.

      They allow

you to decide on the difficulty level you wish to play at.

You get to buy, sell and trade goods that you need to make your journey.

Some of them you get when you capture other ships or treasure chest.

You have to recruit men to sail on your ship with you to make the ship run efficiently.

      One of the ...

      • goals of the game is to rescue your family members who have been take hostage by another pirate.

The main objectives for the game include kill off nine of the most fiercest pirates ever known, so you can become the most notorious pirate on the Spanish main, accumulate the most money or wealth and win the heart of a maiden.

        You have

the option of dancing with the daughter of the governor of all the larger colonies.

If you dance well enough she will give you information or presents of value to you.

She also has a suitor that eventually will come to challenge you to a duel for her hand in marriage.

Excitement, plunder, and treasure await everywhere, so what are you waiting for
