Having acquired this software as part of a freeware package, I am glad to have taken the liberty to actually try it out as it has proved to be of great use to me.

As with most other such video players, it does not require any installation, but it is essential that all the supporting files are moved with the main executable file, otherwise it does not function at all.

User interface: The user interface is easy enough to

      • card can’t handle some heavy video files, with the sound to picture aspect loosing synch. On my faster Pentium 4 system with a way better graphics card, VLC eats up video tasks very easily, making for a pleasurable experience each time.

Extras: While VLC video media player does all tasks as can be expected, there is one particular feature about it that I discovered the other day by mistake, and that is its ability to play compressed video

files that other video medial players can’t. This is without having to download any additional codecs as they are seemingly built in.

A genuinely good video media player which supports a wide variety of formats, including DVD and it is a great tool to have for the video enthusiast such as me. Loading time is bit long, so I never use it for the viewing of short clips, unless I intend to replay them, stop to analyze them or rewind.
