  • I'm usually at least semi-active, in that I like to go for walks and hikes on a pretty regular basis, and even when I'm not at work or not actively walking and exercising, I'm still on my feet pretty regularly anyway
  • I think you need to be at least mildly active before starting even the thirty minute workout, otherwise it might be a little too intense for someone who is just beginning and exercise program entirely

This is a fantastic video to help get you into shape, and not only does it come with a video, but it also comes with an exercise mat for warming up and cooling down after your workout. I’m usually at least semi-active, in that I like to go for walks and hikes on a pretty regular basis, and even when I’m not at work or not actively walking and exercising, I’m still on my feet pretty regularly anyway.

But, I wanted to spice things up and find something that I could also do at home at my convenience when the weather wasn’t always conducive to being outdoors. Though outdoors is my preference, I figured a good workout video would help give me some different activities to do, and since I’ve always heard so much about

kickboxing, and knew it was done in gyms the world over, I figured that was as good a place as any to start.

This kickboxing workout video is hosted by Patricia Moreno, and it’s filmed outdoors, which I have to say didn’t do much for me. It kind of made me a little wistful about being outdoors myself and would’ve much prefered they were all locked in a gym somewhere and couldn’t see the sun for days! It has two workouts on the video, a thirty minute workout and a fifty minute workout, and though I’m not exactly out of shape, that thirty minute workout really had my muscles burning and I wasn’t able to move up to the fifty minute workout for a good month or so. I was doing the thirty minute workout ...

      • about three times a week, switching my walking or hiking out for this, and could do it in the comfort of my own home. It has a nice warm up and cool down session that set me up for success and helped reduce the muscle ache afterwards.

There’s a lot of repetition and, after just a few weeks, I’d pretty much had the workout memorized, because it’s really a lot of basic moves that you do over and over again, but at a cardio fast-paced level. There are slower sections, but it’s really fast paced for the most part. And, because their was repetition and I had it memorized, I was actually able to do it on my own after a while and visit a park where a lot of people go to exercise in

the morning, and listen to my music player and do the workout myself and get to enjoy being outdoors again.

The fifty minute workout was a little more intense, not only because it was longer, but because the slow-down restful periods were fewer and further between and this workout really pushes you to get your goals accomplished. I never felt like the moves were too convoluted to keep up with as I’ve experienced with other exercise videos, and so I didn’t get discouraged because I couldn’t keep up. I think you need to be at least mildly active before starting even the thirty minute workout, otherwise it might be a little too intense for someone who is just beginning and exercise program entirely. But it worked for me, and I didn’t get bored with it.
