  • The lyrics open up the whole concept of the record so these are interesting as well and the energy with which Lennon and McCartney deliver them works nicely

Magical Mystery Tour is the title track of a record released by The Beatles. This song is the starting track on the album and it’s actually a pretty good representation of what’s going to follow.

The track opens up in a very energetic fashion and actually features an extremely prominent brass section, well specifically trumpets, which is the first example of the experimentation with outside instrumentation which

      spans throughout this entire record.

The vocals of the track are nice because they go back and forth between a background part which repeats throughout the track and then the lead vocal line which leads the song.

The rhythm of the track is simple as it’s carried by a simple drum pattern and then the bass just playing a few notes but it’s got a nice groove to it to be honest, the trumpets also certainly help in the energy of the song as well.

The lyrics open up the whole concept of the record so these are interesting as well and the energy with which Lennon and McCartney deliver them works nicely.

The track goes through a nice change about halfway through where it slows down somewhat and then sort of progresses in ...

a variation on the first half of the song.

The track also features another nice change towards the end where the instrumentation and just the music as a whole calms down and the track just cuts toa solo piano which leads the track to its close.

Although I said this track is a good representation of the album, I will say that some of the other songs

are certainly more developed than this track is.

This song is an excellent introduction to the album because it does exactly what a starting track should do which is make the listener want to hear more.

This song is full of energy and certainly has a sound that I don’t believe The Beatles really ever went with on an album before or after Magical Mystery Tour, very enjoyable song.
