  • One thing I really love about this MP3 player is how stylish it looks
  • If you buy this as a gift for someone, this is a great point to consider
  • You’ll get a USB cable to transfer your favourite tracks from your computer and headphones are supplied
  • If you’re investing in this for a backup or don’t want to splash out too much on an item incase of breakage, this is a good option, but there’s more functional models out there at slightly higher prices that I’d recommend more
  • Still, I think this is a pretty decent MP3 player that doesn’t falsely advertise itself

If you’re after a cheap and functional MP3 player, this is a great option. Whether you’re looking for a cheap option for a young child, or just want to keep one around for yourself in case of an emergency or just to keep some extra data space to hand; this nifty MP3 player from Alba is certainly worth considering.

One thing I really love about this MP3 player is how stylish it looks. With its curved and attractive casing, it’s a pretty stylish looking number. You’ll also love the interchangeable covers. With a fixed silver base, there’s a choice of three coloured casings you can switch between depending on your mood. These additional colours are white, pink and black. If you buy this as a gift for someone, this is a great point to consider; regardless of their favourite colour, they can pick their own casing once they’ve got

their hands on the MP3. It’s also a great idea if you want to buy your gifts early without a recipient in mind.

The model itself looks great, with its sleek and minimal design. There’s a good sized screen which is big enough to display all the main information of each track without scrolling for an age. It’s a small and discreet looking piece of kit, perfect for life on the move, as it’ll slip neatly into any sized pocket whilst your walking, driving or for storage when you’re done with it.

Considering its cheap price and relatively low memory space (2GB) you’ll be able to store a surprising amount of tracks. If you’re going by average length tracks at average sized files; you’ll be able to store up to 1000 tracks. The battery life is also impressive; with up to 25 hours of audio playback from a full ...

      • battery and with the device running at basic levels.

There’s a repeat play function which isn’t rare for MP3 players, but is impressive for such a basic model. Unfortunately, there’s no shuffle option; not rare for models like this, but there’s similarly priced ones which offer far more options as far as playback goes.

You can’t recharge this one via USB which is a shame, but it only takes 1 AAA battery. Even though you’re buying batteries, this will certainly keep the price down. However, a lot of the cheap AAA batteries don’t pack much juice, so it might be worth investing for a rechargeable set and dock from a well regarded brand. This will ensure you’ve always got a spare battery on hand will be handy for other devices too.

All the basics are supplied in this package. You’ll get a USB cable to transfer your favourite tracks

from your computer and headphones are supplied. You’ll get a single battery to start you off, but as I’ve said; it’s worth making sure you’ve got some more in stock if nothing else.

This model is very small and lightweight, so sleek and understated you’ll hardly notice it on the move. It’s also a very compatible model, and should work with most versions of OS, anywhere from Windows XP upward.

At around £20 from highstreet retailers, this isn’t a badly priced MP3 player, although you’ll find it cheaper online via Ebay and Amazon in particular. If you’re investing in this for a backup or don’t want to splash out too much on an item incase of breakage, this is a good option, but there’s more functional models out there at slightly higher prices that I’d recommend more.

Still, I think this is a pretty decent MP3 player that doesn’t falsely advertise itself.
