One of the appetizers offered for $5 at Pizza Hut are pepperoni pizza rolls. These simple little pieces of finger food are pizza dough stuffed with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices, served with marinara sauce on the side. They are lightly dusted with seasoning and come in orders of four rolls.
For the most part, the rolls have two to three pieces of pepperoni in them. For their size, this is not too bad, but the cheese and bread definitely overwhelm the taste of pepperoni.
Sometimes the seasoning on top is overdone, making the pizza rolls too salty, especially given the couple of salty pepperoni pieces already inside. Other times, there is no seasoning on top, and the pizza rolls are a little too plain. It seems to be rare that the pizza rolls come out just right!
Still, with the large blob of semi-digestible cheese in the center of each roll, they are very filling, making for a good appetizer in this sense. The mozzarella inside is the ...
