  • As the track progresses I honestly become more and more convinced that the music really just doesn’t flow all that well in this track and doesn’t fit with Plant’s vocals all that well which is something which is quite uncharacteristic of Page in my opinion, generally his music fits extremely well but I just don’t find that the case here
  • Personally I didn’t really enjoy the song as I thought it was jumbled and it really went nowhere, I don’t really think there’s anything in here which justifies recommending it so I’ll unfortunately have to pass, look into something better by Zeppelin

Royal Orleans is a song by Led Zeppelin which appears on their record Presence. The song starts off with a distinctive riff from Page, reinforced by Jones, which repeats twice before leading into the main rhythm of the track and the first verse for Plant. Plant has a nice sound to his voice but the rhythm itself doesn’t strike me as anything all

that great during the verse of the song and the same applies for the chorus. As the track progresses I honestly become more and more convinced that the music really just doesn’t flow all that well in this track and doesn’t fit with Plant’s vocals all that well which is something which is quite uncharacteristic of Page in my opinion, generally his music ...

      • fits extremely well but I just don’t find that the case here. Then again, I’m not a huge fan of his main riff on this song so my opinion could be somewhat biased in that respect. However, I honestly do think that the flow that Zeppelin typically has on their songs just isn’t present on Royal Orleans as this track just seems to
go all over the place and I really don’t think that it has the normal coherency that a typical song by Led Zeppelin has. Personally I didn’t really enjoy the song as I thought it was jumbled and it really went nowhere, I don’t really think there’s anything in here which justifies recommending it so I’ll unfortunately have to pass, look into something better by Zeppelin.
