  • The track starts off with a sample of some blues song in the left channel along with a children’s song coming through the right channel, certainly an interesting way to start for Megadeth
  • The song does continue to return to that blues sample, which may actually be a real recording now that I think about it, which doesn’t exactly make sense to me considering the context of the lyrics, which deal with school violence, but it doesn’t harm the song so it’s not a big deal

Have Cool, Will Travel is a song by Megadeth which appears on their Cryptic Writings. The track starts off with a sample of some blues song in the left channel along with a children’s song coming through the right channel, certainly an interesting way to start for Megadeth.

However, the track soon does start to sound like them as a heavy guitar rhythm comes in along with

Mustaine screaming the lyrics with his characteristic snarl.

The song doesn’t exactly have a chorus section in this track, well the chorus is really just Mustaine shouting the word “hey” in sort of an odd fashion.

The bridge of the track takes on a slightly more melodic sound due to the tempo seeming to slow down as well as a clean guitar being pretty prominent in the ...

      • mix as well.

The solo of the song isn’t great, although I do really enjoy Mustaine’s rhythm under it, and overall I guess the track is pretty solid but it’s nothing which really blew me away.

The song does continue to return to that blues sample, which may actually be a real recording now that I think about it, which doesn’t exactly make sense to me considering

the context of the lyrics, which deal with school violence, but it doesn’t harm the song so it’s not a big deal.

Have Cool, Will Travel is a pretty solid track which doesn’t have any big flaws to it but at the same time it’s nothing extremely impressive and it doesn’t exactly have anything to set it apart from many of Megadeth’s other average tracks, not too bad though.
