  • I found a great pumice stone at one of the local beauty supply stores a while back and, for the most part, I used it pretty religiously, but found that little pieces of the scratchy foam would fall off and I'd have these little pebbles all over my bathtub, and I couldn't start running a bath for myself without rinsing it out from the previous day to make sure all these little pebbles weren't still all over the tub
  • They had a whole section to Earth Therapeutics, and I admittedly gravitated towards this one because it was shaped like a foot and I thought it was cute and everyone who knows me knows that cuteness goes a long way with me (uh, have you seen how many Hello Kitty banks I have in my house
  • I even tend to get dry and cracked skin around my ankles, and that's definitely an awkward place to get to with a scrubber of any kind, and really get the whole area, but this file was actually thin enough and curved enough that I was able to get it to go where I needed it around my ankles, and it wasn't so harsh that I ended up with raw skin afterwards

I found a great pumice stone at one of the local beauty supply stores a while back and, for the most part, I used it pretty religiously, but found that little pieces of the scratchy foam would fall off and I’d have these little pebbles all over my bathtub, and I couldn’t start running a bath for myself without rinsing it out from the previous day to make sure all these little pebbles weren’t still all over the tub. Not only that, but it would start looking nasty pretty quickly, and there was no way to really wipe it down or clean it, and the only place I could use this thing was on my feet, where I had major callouses and tough dry skin. I would’ve liked to have had a product that I could use on the

rough skin of my knees and elbows as well, but that pumice stone would’ve scratched me raw if I’d attempted to use it on the more sensitive skin in those areas. And that’s why I ended up buying the Earth Terapeutics Wooden Foot File, which I found at a local grocery store. They had a whole section to Earth Therapeutics, and I admittedly gravitated towards this one because it was shaped like a foot and I thought it was cute and everyone who knows me knows that cuteness goes a long way with me (uh, have you seen how many Hello Kitty banks I have in my house??)!

The other attractive attribute to this product is that the wooden handle was curved to compliment a good grip from a feminine hand. Sure, there’s no reason this product couldn’t be used ...

      • by men and women like, but I’d like to think it was specifically designed for someone a little more feminine, which made purchasing it feel a little more like a treat instead of a cosmetic necessity, even though it really was, because my skin was in bad shape and was really dry thanks to the Nevada climate and the fact that we get about an inch of rain per year, oy veh. I was surprised it was only $1.80, which is totally affordable and I ended up buying a half a dozen of them because they were nicely packaged in individual wrappings, and made great stocking stuffer type gifts for my girlfriends during the holidays because not only are these products functional but they can make very pretty gifts as well.

It has two rough sides on it that

are harsh and effective enough to rub away those big callouses on the balls of my feet, and smooth down my rough and cracked heels, but it was also surprisingly gentle enough to use on the delicate skin of my elbows and knees no matter how dried and tough the skin might have felt. I even tend to get dry and cracked skin around my ankles, and that’s definitely an awkward place to get to with a scrubber of any kind, and really get the whole area, but this file was actually thin enough and curved enough that I was able to get it to go where I needed it around my ankles, and it wasn’t so harsh that I ended up with raw skin afterwards. Great at handling tough and dry skin so I give it high marks all around.
