  • I bought this phone at it's peak when it was around $370, my brother, my sister-in-law, my boyfriend and myself had each this phone, up to now only my boyfriend and I remains to still have this phone
  • I know there are 64 gigabytes of Apple products in the market, but I dare not waste hundreds of saved precious messages stored here in my phone
  • I had already saved all the files in my laptop, but still the K800i even with only a 2 gigabyte memory card had been my Ipod and I really value it's $370 worth before, it is still serving me with the purpose it was created for 5 years ago, and I think I'll be storing this phone for years still to come

I have had my Sony Ericsson K800i phone model for 5 years now, and I must say I still can’t have the courage to dispose it. It’s been such a great phone that even with all the Blacbkerrys and the Iphones around, I still can’t muster giving away this phone. I bought this phone at it’s peak when it was around $370, my brother, my sister-in-law, my boyfriend and myself had each this phone, up to now only my boyfriend and I remains to still have this phone. I look at my K800i and pity it, others have disposed the unit, seeing many other 3G-capable and touchscreen phones in the market. I couldn’t risk being without my K800i, it was there for me at the times I needed it most. Sometimes I would leave my Blackberry at home and just bring my K800i, imagine that. Now I have asked

how much this phone is brand new, and I wanted to cry, now it is only valued at $100 - complete with box, charger, and everything else. How fast and why had it gone down at the low a price.

Why do I like this phone so much? Why can’t I get rid of it? The camera is 3.2 megapixel, and I have shot many photos with great memories that can’t be rewound and erased, without this phone (I have no digital camera) I would not have captured great quality images that I still have in my phone and laptop right now, thanks to it’s 3.2 megapixel camera. I recently bought a Blackberry Bold 2, and guess what megapixel it had? 3.2 megapixel. My K800i was silently gloating, 5 years ago and up to now, she wasn’t still outdated, I still use her camera from time to time as ...

      • the shutter captures images and scenes quickly, it has also got a flash, and options red-eye removal, twilight portrait, night portrait shots, this phone is not really old-fashioned yet! I do edit my photos here most of the time still, as I am too lazy to install and work on Photoshop, and I thin kthe images I have captured here and have edited here does look good, I say this because when I upload them on Facebook and Friendster before, they do comment that the shots are good and when I tell them it’s from a camera phone, they immediately know it’s a Sony phone, since Sony phones are really designed and created to have good cameras.

What I also like is the internal memory. I know there are 64 gigabytes of Apple products in the market, but I dare not waste hundreds of saved precious messages stored here

in my phone. I had a Motorola before and I had disposed it because of it’s small memory, I had only been able to save about 30 messages and a warning popped out saying I should delete old ones to make space for the new ones. Huh?! Delete precious messages? No way! Right now I have about 300 messages on my Sony, and nothing can beat that! I have about 30 saved videos also and about 500 pictures in this phone, now you know why I can’t really throw this away. I had already saved all the files in my laptop, but still the K800i even with only a 2 gigabyte memory card had been my “Ipod” and I really value it’s $370 worth before, it is still serving me with the purpose it was created for 5 years ago, and I think I’ll be storing this phone for years still to come!
