Women Infants & Children Program also known as the WIC program is where women that are pregnant or have children under the age of 5 years can receive vouchers to buy healthy food. You would receive vouchers for the month that you can use at any participating store. The sign up is easy to do and you get your first appointment within a month. In order to receive your vouchers for healthy food, you are required to participate in a monthly class which is about an hour long which talks about healthy choices and information about how to save on food. You get

with so much like baby formula and baby vegetables and fruits, milk, eggs, bread, cheese, juice, and more.

Several years ago I decided to apply because I was not working and any extra help I can get I really needed it. I was told by a family member about the program and decided to apply. I called the 800 number and had set up an appointment. I was sent a appointment letter in the mail telling me my appointment time and what I needed to bring at the appointment. Once the appointment came I set down with one of the nutritionist staff and got ...

      • to choose within their options which juice I preferred and ext.

After that I was able to go to my local store and shop for the things that was on my list and purchase them with my vouchers. You get your vouchers the same day and they expire within a month till your next appointment which gives you new vouchers. I am so glad that there is a program like this for people that need the help. It doesn’t give you a whole lot and it is not intended to but it helps you so you can at least have some type of

        help.

The Wic staff is really friendly and makes sure you lead a healthy life for you and your children. They are really patient with you and you can learn a lot from the classed that they held. There will be other participates in the same class that is going through the same thing and you learn advice from each other. It is really helpful and glad I was apart of it. I highly recommend this program to anyone needing some type of help for their nutritional needs or help with baby formula because times do get rough and baby formula is pretty expensive now days.
