Quantum Leap is a science fiction series that aired in the 1980s to early 1990s. Each story stands alone, there is very little arc. The premise of the series is that a scientific experiment has propelled the soul/person of a scientist into the bodies of other people — hence, he leaps into other people at different times in history.

When he enters the new person’s body, he is supposed to make right

a wrong or solve a problem that the person has. Al, his holographic assistant, tell them about how things turn out based on different actions that he takes.

His job is to improve people’s lives. In this particular episode, he leaps into the body of a boxer.

The story takes place in the 1930s. The boxer is contracted to a nunnery, and a younger sister trusts him to earn money to ...

      • help her build a center to help the homeless and poor in the community.

However, unbeknownst to the honest nun, the boxer is actually on the take for the mob. He is supposed to take a fall and throw the fight.

This makes the leaper involved in a dilemma — should he disobeyed a mob boss, risking the life of the boxer whose body he inhabits, or should we obey the mobster

and therefore destroy the convents hopes of charity. In the end, this situation is resolved in a feel-good manner — as most of these episodes are resolved.

Quantum Leap is a fun show that always end happily. This episode is no exception.

It’s nice to see a show where no matter what the conflicts are you know things turn out well in the end. It brings some comfort.

        This was a good episode.
