  • Thus far the sound is extremely aggressive and once the guitar solos of the track come in this feeling is just reinforced, this is an excellent example of what early thrash metal was like in my opinion

Wake Up Dead is a song by Megadeth which appears on their album Peace Sells… But Whose Buying? The track opens up with an extremely aggressive drum rhythm before Mustaine’s guitar comes in along with his vocals which are more of a spoken word section which just sort of set up the lyrical theme of the song. Thus far the sound is extremely aggressive and once the guitar solos of the track come in this feeling is just reinforced, this is an excellent example of what early thrash metal was like

      in my opinion.

And this isn’t just the primitive thrash metal, this is quite a well developed song in my opinion.

After the lead ends, an excellent riff comes in before the main riff of the song starts up which has an excellent rhythm and is difficult not to bounce your head to in my opinion.

The guitar tone throughout this track is excellent and since the bass is high in the mix this adds another level of depth to the track which is nice to hear, you really get a ...

      • good tone out of each instrument on this track in my opinion.

Another lead comes in slightly under two minutes in and you should really be able to feel the aggression coming from Megadeth when you listen to this track, you can expect the rhythms to sound pretty aggressive and violent but I even get this impression from the solos on the track to be honest, you can really tell Mustaine was angry at something when he wrote this track as it certainly shows.

Mustaine finally comes in with another set

of vocals at around two and a half minutes into the track but the music should certainly keep you entertained until this happens.

The track slightly slows down at around two minutes and forty five seconds but this really heavy feel and aggression is still kept in the track.

Yet another lead comes in before a chant section takes the song to its finish.

Overall, as you should be able to get the impression, this is an extremely aggressive song but one of the better ones on Peace Sells… But Whose Buying?
