Sea Hunt: Magnetic Mine has its moments. This show, starring Lloyd Bridges as Mike Nelson, skin diving expert, has Nelson recruited to help out with a Japanese derelict mine which is drifting towards a California harbor. That spells danger in the worst way, and makes the show an urgent one where time is of the essence.

Magnetic Mine includes some terrific underwater photography with sea lions,

stingrays, and such. This is basically at the beginning of the show, when we see Nelson involved with his initial reason for being in the area. I wish there had been more of that; it was just so fun to see that underwater life.

What is amazing to watch in Sea Hunt: Magnetic Mine is that this mine seems to have a mind of its own.

      • It gets out of a net and all sorts of things as it continues to move towards land.

I do like the neat minute at the end of the episode which shows the Navy sweeper loading the disarmed mine onto their boat. I wish they’d done a little more with this. It was the perfect opportunity to show what a Navy sweeper does.

        Guest stars included

Joe Dominguez and Eugene Iglesias as Diego. Both of these men appear in multiple Sea Hunt outings. Also a repeater, Ana Maria Majalca is part of the cast, too. She does just slightly better than her last outing, which was laughable.

Overall, I like the drama from this program of Sea Hunt: Magnetic Mine. It gave us something different, and that’s always a good thing.
