North Cay Island, Coron, Palawan, Philippines, 5316
  • My friends and I decided to wake up early to catch the sunrise and to walk around the island, it turned out to be a good idea, since at the back of the island, there was a rock formation, which is really beautiful
  • We used up almost an hour just waddling along the beach and the rocks, and of course taking some of the best pictures in our whole trip
  • I’m not sure about the cost, since our tour guide, Coron Wonders, were the one who fixed everything for us
  • But it was not really an issue for us, because there was a cool breeze so it was not hot, plus surprisingly, there were no mosquitoes or other insects that will bite you
  • If you can, you should include an overnight in the island in your itinerary, it’s really a great and one-of-a-kind experience

Our two-day tour of the islands of Coron, Palawan included an overnight stay at North Cay Island. We arrived there a little over 8PM, it was really dark, and quite scary because the island was really far, and it took us almost 2 hours of boat ride just to get there. When we arrived, we couldn’t appreciate the place, since it’s already dark, and there are not that many lights in the area. We just stayed

in our Nipa Hut where we slept, and the next morning, we woke up to an incredibly beautiful and serene place.

It was a small island, with in incredibly pearl white beach that feels almost like powder when you step on it. My friends and I decided to wake up early to catch the sunrise and to walk around the island, it turned out to be a good idea, since at the back of the island,

Apart from the Nipa hut that we stayed in, there was another small house that can be rented, when we were there, a couple of foreigners were staying there. I’m not sure about the cost, since our tour guide, Coron

Wonders, were the one who fixed everything for us. The island has a generator for electricity, although it was not working when we were there. But it was not really an issue for us, because there was a cool breeze so it was not hot, plus surprisingly, there were no mosquitoes or other insects that will bite you.

    Hi Fiona,

There are no specific contact information for North Cay Island its like an open island to all although there are several trip/tour packages who handles the travel and hotel accomodation in Coron such as travel agencies like Agoda. It really depends on who would you like to handle your accommodation. Because going to North Cay Island is 45 minutes away from hotels in Coron. All you have to do is to ride a boat going to North Cay Island and pay 200 pesos for a nipa hut and all. Visit Tripadvisor Philippines for more information.
