Baldur’s Gate II is a classic of RPG games and I feel it deserves a place in the hall of all time classic games. I suspect I may revisit it in 20 or 30 years from now, which goes to show how it can stand the test of time.

In graphics it has nothing for it really, compared to new and flashy games, but I feel that

Baldur’s Gate II is a game which can stand up on its own two feet beside the giants of graphics because it is fundamentally not meant to be an eye fest, although I do feel quite immersed in it and enjoy the 2D landscapes which you navigate with your characters.

Baldur’s Gate II is basically an interactive story, and with 40 hours of playing if you play ...

      • all of the sub missions, it’s really a STORY.

You find yourself in the dungeons of a cruel and dangerous man called Irenicus, who has captured you and chosen to experiment on you to find the source of your power as a child of a God that you are.

That’s right, you play a godchild, as you found out you were in the previous game (which I

        haven’t played yet).

The story is rich and twisting, with lots of plot and very very rich characters.

There’s also great interactivity, meaning you can choose what sort of actions you like to take, whether good or evil, avaricious or noble.

I love the obvious love and care which went into the making of this game and recommend it to anyone.

It’s a time sink though, watch out.
