The LG KM900 Arena was one of the first competitors of the Iphone. Multitouch screen, gyroscope and other special features have made this phone an alternative for the Apple product.

The Arena is a heavy telephone with a solid metal case. Silver and black colors are available. The case is resistant, but the plastic battery lid and the touchscreen is subject to getting scratched or damaged. I consider myself a careful user of mobile phones, but the touchscreen got scratched after two weeks of

      everyday handling.

The software of the telephone is neither fast or slow, absolutely somewhere in between. Sometimes you really wish that it was faster, but after reading some reviews on other touchscreen phones, it doesn’t seem too slow. The touchscreen is also sometimes sensitive and at other times it can be quite annoying having to touch “buttons” again and again.

The features of the phone are great. Wifi, 5MP camera, additional camera, video-calls are becoming an essential part of today’s needs, this one has them.

      • The camera has several features, I think some digital cameras would appreciate the potential in this phone. You can change ISO, there’s timer, flash lite, white balance, auto-focus, manual focus, a decent video-recording ability. However, do not expect too much indoors. Outside, you really have the chance to take pictures as nice as a low or mid-end digital camera.

Sound quality is good, music player is OK, it has a lot of EQ presets, among them a Dolby feature.

As this telephone is more than

a year old you will probably find them without a service provider. It is a good choice for about $250, but I’m sure the touchscreen market really needs to get more sophisticated.

        Pros: - Wifi - 5MP camera with manual settings - Videocalls - 4 starting screens - Personalized menus - 7Gb memory + MiniSD slot - Favorites menu - DivX - Bluetooth - Music player

Cons: - Sensitive touchreen surface - Touching the screen is sometimes too sensitive - Sometimes you have to touch the screen several times - No remote control for the headphones - Low battery life (2 days)
