  • I really enjoyed Date Night, it's a fast paced comedy and Tina Fey and Steve Carell are just perfect for that kind of movies
  • I've heard a lot of people saying Fey and Carell aren't as funny as they usually are on their TV roles (30 Rock and The Office) or on another movies ( The 40 year old virgin in Carell's case) but I found them as funny as usual
  • Date Night may not be the funniest movie ever, it sure isn't the best Fey and Carell's work, but it's funny enough to be worthwhile going to the movies to watch it

“Date Night” is a comedy starred by Tina Fey and Steve Carell. They play Claire and Phil Foster, a normal and bored suburban couple, who work all day and have a monotone date night scheduled every week when they go to movies and then have dinner on the same restaurant. The fun starts when they, trying to spice things up, try to

get dinner at a trendy city restaurant, claim the reservation of another couple, the Tripplehorns, and then their identity got mistaken with the Tripplehorns and end up being chased by two crooked cops and enmeshed with drugs, prostitution and mobsters.

Carell are acting naturally and are just being Tina Fey and Steve Carell. Also there is some chemistry between Fey and Carell, they look good together and their jokes to each other just work great. Maybe with some other actors on the lead roles this flick wouldn’t be as good. Also maybe the plot and storyline of the movie are not anything
new, maybe the movie isn’t credible at all but who cares? It works and it’s fun.

Date Night may not be the funniest movie ever, it sure isn’t the best Fey and Carell’s work, but it’s funny enough to be worthwhile going to the movies to watch it. If you are about watching Date Night just remember that there’s nothing wrong with laughing.
