  • World Long Gone is a song by Scars On Broadway, and I believe the second single released for this record, which appears on their self-titled debut album
  • One thing I’ll say about World Long Gone right now is that the main riff of the song is probably the best on the record, and I personally think it’s certainly a good riff

World Long Gone is a song by Scars On Broadway, and I believe the second single released for this record, which appears on their self-titled debut album. One thing I’ll say about World Long Gone right now is that the main riff of the song is probably the best on the record, and I personally think it’s certainly a good riff.

This opening riff starts the song before Malakian comes in with the vocals and is once again is a slightly more aggressive

tone, at least in comparison to Insane.

As I said with Funny, the synthesizer created sort of a space-like sound and the same thing happens on the chorus of this track.

Unlike some of the other more rock-driven songs where the synthesizer was used more as a lead tool, on World Long Gone it’s again used more to set up an atmosphere which I personally think sounds excellent.

World Long Gone somewhat follows the structure of Serious as the verses to the song ...

      • are pretty aggressive and then the song slows down for the chorus and develops a far more melodic tone.

I also want to say that Malakian’s vocal delivery during the chorus is excellent and his tone is great, in the verse his voice is alright and nothing bad of course, but in the chorus he just sounds great, the dub vocal effect is another nice touch.

The bridge of the song is short but you get a good chance to hear that one

excellent riff repeat again in a slight variation where it’s extended before leading back into the chorus of the song and then the track closing.

World Long Gone is certainly a nice balance between a rock driven sound during the verses, although not extremely aggressive like Stoner-Hate, with a nice melodic sound during the verses, although not extremely melodic as with Funny.

As you can see, the point I’m trying to make is that World Long Gone has a nice and balanced overall sound.
