The sequel to Men In Black suffers from the same disease that plagues most sequels, it fails to live up to the expectations that viewers had after the masterpiece of the first movie. One of the saving graces of this sequel is that the main characters come back, even though

Tommy Lee Jones seemed to be removed from the picture forever at the end of the first movie.

Even though he was unexpectedly brought back into the fold it was very well done and believable, not the deus ex machina copout that I was expecting when I saw he was coming back for the sequel.

Where the sequel really flopped was that it lost the beautiful blend that made its successor so successful.

Most of the jokes were cheesy and forced, and a lot of the action was not so much mixed with the comedy, but forcefully injected into it.

a result I was left feeling like I had been given a dumbed down version of the movie.

All the genius and excitement that went into the first movie was missing in the sequel, and it was obvious.

The characters really switched roles, with his memory gone Tommy Lee Jones

went from the experienced professional to the goofy new guy, and Will Smith was promoted from the inexperienced goofy new guy to the inexperienced goofy lead agent.

The balance that perfected the original movie is completely lost and the sequel is so top heavy that it is doomed to flip over and sink.
