Oh, how I waited to see this movie’ And oh, how disappointed I was. Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann are getting ready to get married when they are arrested for helping Jack Sparrow, a pirate captain, to get away in Movie 1. They are facing death penalty; however, Turner is offered a deal by Lord Cutler Beckett.

      Beckett wants Jack Sparrow’s

compass, so Turner must go and find Sparrow and offer him an official pardon for the compass. If he succeeds, he and Elizabeth will be pardoned as well.

Turner accepts the offer and goes searching for Sparrow. He finds the pirate on an island, worshipped as god by the savages.

However, it turns out that the ‘god’ is a captive as well: the savages are planning to do him a favor and release his spirit from his body by burning him alive. The rest of his pirate crew is locked in a cage; Turner is thrown there as well.

He manages to organize an escape. Jack Sparrow and the crew reclaim their ship and sail off.

Cutler Becketts offer, but Sparrow is not interested in the pardon. He has a mission of his own in mind: he wants to find the key to the legendary Dead Mans Chest.

Sparrow says that if Turner helps him to get the key, he will give him the compass. So the adventure is there, and the characters we grew to like

from the first movie, and of course the impressive special effects but something is gone from the movie.

It tries so hard to outdo the first one, to be funnier, crazier, faster-paced’ And somehow it fails. In the middle of all that, the viewer gets bored ‘ at least I did.

We’ll see what they do with the third movie. Somehow, I’m not very optimistic.
