One of the few adequate performances by Ashton Kutcher (who normally works a tired cliché part). Here he does an acceptable job (but not a great one) of portraying the main character who is able to move back in time and change the future. The movie is based on the age old saying that if you went back to the dinosaur age and just smashed one butterfly, that small act would drastically change the future. In other words, everything of every size affects the future. This movie

does a fairly good job of playing out that scenario. I was not disappointed, even though I was also not thrilled. The movie achieved its purpose of providing entertainment and a bit of suspense all throughout. There were no outstanding scenes and no extraordinary twists to speak of, but it did tell the story well. Even if I could see the obvious turn of events, as he attempted to change time for the better, it was fun to watch (even if not all that surprising).

      • enjoyed most of this movie, and I could recommend it as an average (maybe slightly above-average) film. This is not an award winner or a blockbuster but it is a good ride that’s fun to watch. Ethan Suplee does a great job as Thumper, the main character’s good friend and college roommate, who is a misfit. Most of the cast was good here, with some interesting performances.

One problem with the film was the constant over-riding evil thriller theme that sometime overtakes the wonderment of what the

film could have exposed. In more capable hands, this could have been a wonderful film. The continual references back to his evil Daddy were monotonous at best. Not to mention: too many bloody noses, over and over, makes for a few hard scenes to watch. I could have done without all that.

This was an o. k. movie that could have been stellar. Average rating given here, because it could have been better. However, give it a try, it is a fun movie to watch – overall.
