My favorite book, which I have read over and over repeatedly throughout the years, would definately have to be Stephen King’s ‘Misery’. I love this book! It is about a writer named Paul Sheldon who ends up in deep trouble in a snow-blinded Colorado, and he’s in a car accident after he’s finished his latest book at a lodge he likes to

      go to.

It turns out that the only one who’s seen his accident and pries him out of the wreck is his ‘number one fan’, Annie Wilkes.

She is a former nurse who, as we will later find out, went on trial for a string of baby murders in the hospitals she worked at.

She lives by herself in what seems like ...

      • the middle of nowhere.

She takes Paul to her home and re-sets his badly broken legs and puts him on pain medication, while nursing him back to help.

But he soon finds out that she is keeping him prisoner, as she won’t allow him to use the phone or let anyone know where he is.

After awhile she urges him to write

another Misery novel, the series Paul has penned that she is obsessed with.

In between her violent rages and sweet moodswings, Paul works steadily on this new book with Annie’s urging.

What I love about this book is the perspective from Paul Sheldon’s point of view.

His thoughts of escape and the unfolding of his revelation of the true Annie Wilkes is very interesting.
