  • Overall, the song doesn’t really stand out to me from the rest of The Beatles early work but the song is led very nicely by the vocal sections which I believe really drive the track, and not just from Lennon, but also from the way his voice comes together with McCartney’s and Harrison’s

Please Mister Postman is a song by The Beatles which appears on their album With The Beatles. I’m aware that this song is just a cover so I can’t really talk about the songwriting or the structure of the track, even thought it basically follows a traditional pattern which The Beatles would use, but I can talk about the execution of the song by the band.

      Lennon takes lead vocals on

this track with the other members singing background on the track: it’s nice here because you can get a good sense of not just Lennon’s voice but also McCartney’s and I would assume Harrison’s as well.

I’m glad that The Beatles took the approach of Lennon singing lead with McCartney and Harrison on background rather than Lennon on lead and Lennon also dubbed to sing the background parts, you get a ...

      • nicer harmony sound with the three members rather than one.

As I said, the structure of the song basically follows the typical structure that The Beatles would write in during this time period so there’s nothing very special here.

Overall, the song doesn’t really stand out to me from the rest of The Beatles early work but the song is led very nicely by the vocal sections which I believe really

drive the track, and not just from Lennon, but also from the way his voice comes together with McCartney’s and Harrison’s.

If you’re looking for something that’s extremely impressive than this obviously isn’t the track to be listening to, nor are really any of The Beatles’ records before Rubber Soul if you’re looking for that.

However, if you’re just looking for an enjoyable song with a good vocal melody, this would be a nice pick.
