From November 1956, Highway Patrol: Typhoid Carrier has Chief Dan Mathews (Broderick Crawford) and his California Highway Patrol dealing with a potential outbreak of typhoid in the small community of Indian Valley. The problem is a man who is a known carrier of the disease. Frightened when his employer’s daughter dies of typhoid, he tries to leave the area.

      The carrier, Lenny Forbes (Kort

Falkenberg), is tired of the hospital programs he’s done in the past, where he has to check in with the hospital all the time. He doesn’t feel free. He ignores his wife’s request to try it again. She goes along with him for a while, but ultimately, she gets through to him before more harm is done.

Whoops, hold the fort. Mathews ...

      • gets the call that the Fraziers are on the way back to the farm. He’s in the car with another officer, but when he arrives at the farm, he’s alone. It was an urgent trip to the farm, so this was a definite continuity blunder.

The guest star I enjoyed the most only had one scene and that was Paula Hill, who played the

waitress. I loved her energy, her look, and the intelligence of her character, who interacts with Lenny’s wife. She was the best of all of them in my opinion.

Overall, this was a strong outing for this drama. It’s one of the shows that make you understand why people loved this show so much. I’ve seen a few duds lately, so I was ready for this one.
