When we adopted our puppy, there were a lot of things to consider, and food was definitely near the top of the list. The rescue group who kept him had fed him a cheaper brand of food, since they had so many dogs to feed on such a tight budget. We were hoping to get him adjusted to a finer brand.
We tried several different brands, from Nutro to Royal Canin and many in-between, but even with gradually introducing these new foods to him by carefully working them into his diet, it seemed like every food we
tried upset his stomach. The vet suggested we try a formula of Science Diet that was meant for extra-sensitive stomachs, but while that was somewhat better, it didn’t clear things up entirely, and we were still stuck dealing with puppy diarrhea.
By chance, we picked up a bag of Purina One dry puppy food, lamb and rice formula, because a friend had once told us their dog would only eat that. At this point, we thought it was worth a try.
