      As it’s been pouring outside all morning, normally I would have to skip my daily walk. Thanks to the Walk Away the Pounds Program however, even a thunder storm doesn’t break my stride. Ah the beauty of an indoor walking plan is that you never have to worry about weather, traffic, dehydration, or even being far from a restroom. There really is no place like home!

      Today I thought I’d check out the High Calorie Burn 2 mile walk offered by itself or on a few compilations such Walk Away the Pounds 2-Pack: Super Fat Burning + Get Up and Get Started High Calorie Burn, or the Leslie Sansone - Walk Away the Pounds (Get Up and Get Started 1 Mile / High Calorie Burn 2 Miles). If you go on Amazon you have many options to choose from for this workout in both DVD and VHS formats.

      If you are unfamiliar with this in-home walk workout system, you really should try it. Since discovering it a few months


      back I have been collecting as many of the fun and varied Walk Away the Pounds, and Walk Diet workouts as possible. Really, once you try one you may be hooked.

      One of best things about the program is that there are very few step moves to learn, so once you have them down (which is instantly); you can do any of the other workouts. The key here is in knowing the basic steps. The steps are then put into mile increments, and sometimes additional upper body work with bands, belts, or balls are added to up the calorie burn.

      If you are worried about the strength training don’t be. Just pick a workout that doesn’t feature the addition until you are ready to progress. Really though, the extra training isn’t so difficult that it would scare a beginner off. There are people of all ages, shapes, and experience levels working out in the class.

      • 30 minutes, there is a warm-up, cool down and a little weight resistance training to help increase the burn. For this workout I needed a two pound set of weighted balls, as I only have one, I opted to use two pound dumbbells instead. I would imagine any light weights will do.

        The students today are all outfitted in coordinated pink tank tops aside from the one lone gentleman (Randy) in grey. The workout room even has Barbie doll pink panels in the background adding to the cheerful atmosphere. Though it has a diamond patterned floor the room itself is devoid of visual features aside some domed windows, and a little wood trim here and there.

        If you are new to the program, it begins simply with a warm up that includes marching in place and a review of the basic steps. If this is your first look at the 4 steps, they include: march in place, side steps, gentle kicks, and knee lifts. This is so easy;

        you have little to worry about. It is not the type of workout where they change too rapidly and you get tripped up.

        Leslie gives good prompts, counts down, and lets you know what’s coming up next. She really sets a great pace, and this workout also has a mile counter which appears after each half mile to let you know your progress.
