Trailer Story is the third outing for Highway Patrol’s third season. Starring Broderick Crawford as Chief Dan Mathews, the head of the California Highway Patrol, this story is the search for a killer.

As far as the production quality goes, it was pretty good. I didn’t really have any issues with the direction. The writing was

in question at one point in so far as it had one of the officers not being as attentive as he should be. It was a device needed to further the plot a certain way, but it stood out to me as being a sad dereliction of duty.

One of the officers was charged with watching the murderer’s ...

      • wife. He knew that the murderer would be in that location within a couple of minutes. All he had to do was watch the woman. Instead, he gets distraction and looks out the window. This lets her run out in time to warn her husband and put another woman’s life in jeopardy. It
        was just plain stupid.

The show is another excellent warning of why hitchhiking, or in this case, picking up hitchhikers is a bad idea. That’s how a couple was put in danger. I will say that the drama and angst was steady and done well. There weren’t sour moves other than what I mentioned to disrupt the episode.
