LCCT stands for Low Cost Carrier Terminal, as the name suggested it is used by budget airlines for their daily operation. The first impression of the airport is extremely pleasant, even it is situation right next to the famous Malaysian Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

It has the basic neccessities for all travellers and minus the super-crowded

      lobby of an international airport.

The McDonald’s and Asian Kitchen are conveniently located right at the departure hall which serve as a good time killer if you are in transit.

Alternatively, travellers can catch a warm cup of aromatic coffee at Coffee Bean right at the arrival hall, which is just less than a minute walk ...

      • away from the departure hall.

Currently only one budget airline is operating which is AirAsia.

All the ground staffs are very friendly and helpful.

All directions are clearly indicated, with a clear giant signboard indicating flight number and check in counters.

Inside the terminal, there is a duty free shop at the international departure terminal, where

travellers can should for duty free goods, which is fairly priced as compared to KLIA duty free goods.

Alcohol products are generally priced cheaper than most international airport mainly due to lower operating costs.

LCCT does live up to its expectation, you expect a simple, clean and easy way of travelling.

Overall my rating for the LCCT airport is 8/10.

I`d like to know how much time to allow to teach LCCT if I`m taling the Expres train from KL and then the shuttle bus from the main airport. How frequently do the shuttles run, and how long do they take?

    MBFX220 replies :

Dear Martyn If you travel from KL Sentral to LCCT via KLIA Express, it will take around 27 minutes, train frequency is about 30 min once. For shuttle bus from, there are numerous companies running a few lines of buses but they all go to LCCT, I had tried the one operated by AirAsia, it will take about 50 min to 1 hour depending on the traffic condition in KL. AirAsia buses are pretty frequent, once every 15 min or so. Be sure to arrive in LCCT at least 2 hrs prior to your flight with AirAsia. Good Luck, and hope this will help you.
