  • If you are considering NUS (the national university of Singapore) as a school to study in, do consider that most of the students who will be studying in this school are Singaporean citizens, and therefore the kind of English that they will be speaking, will have some form of Singaporean accent within

The reason I choose to study in the national university of Singapore is because firstly, I am a Singaporean and secondly, in order to excel in life, in Singapore, you need to have a degree, and thirdly, my mother will kill me if I do not go there. Therefore, you now have a reviewer who is somewhat forced to go into the university against her will.

However, rest assured that I will not let my misfortune result in the giving

of a bias and distorted account of what NUS is like as a school.

You may not be able to communicate well with some of the students here ...

      • if you come from foreign countries.

Yet, the hostels are of a high standard and affordable.

The university is also very well equipped, with many facilities like a library with many useful books and endless number of references.

The price of the food sold in the canteen is cheap, compared to the price of food that are sold in the usual foodcourt around the country of Singapore.

The lecturers, from the Arts and Humanities department, those that I have encountered

in my 3 years of study in this university, are friendly people, who will be quite helpful to you, in the course of your study.

They are open to consultation by the students and most of them are keen to see their students excel in their studies.

All in all, NUS is a nice university to consider trying if you do have that intention to study abroad.

:) It will be a good chance to learn some mandarin and meet up with Singaporeans.
