      Highway Patrol: Dead Patrolman focuses on the search for the killer of a California Highway Patrol officer. The police have a description of the car, but need to track down the driver. The owner, a woman, says she loaned her car to someone else. She’s actually lying to cover up for

      the man she’s supposed to marry, only he’s just using her.

      Broderick Crawford stars as the very strong and capable Chief Dan Mathews. Mathews convinces the owner to tell the truth after showing her pictures of the murder. She eventually realizes how much she’s been used. Ruth Clifford plays the role of ...


      • Mrs. Theo Nielson and she does it well. You end up really feeling sorry for her.

        I enjoyed Hank Patterson’s small role early on. I’m learning to really appreciate his talent as a character actor from watching old shows like this one. Once again William Boyett is part of the cast as

        one of the CHP officers. I always get a kick out of him.

        What doesn’t work for the show is the firing of bullets at one point, but that’s how TV shows of this era was done. It wouldn’t happen today, that’s for sure.

        Overall, it’s a decent half hour of entertainment, though it’s nothing super special.
