If I recall correctly, Star Trek: Assignment: Earth, the last show of the second season, was actually a pilot for series that didn’t sell. It would have starred Robert Lansing as Gary Seven with Teri Garr as Roberta Lincoln. Personally, I liked it, and I would have watched. I think

this is delightful science fiction hour, and the new show could have been a lot of fun.

Here are some of my personal highlights:

–I love Spock with Isis, the black cat. They bond, and it’s very cute.

–The banter between Gary Seven and the Beta 5 computer is a hoot. The Beta 5 ...

      • can ‘think’ and it doesn’t give in to Mister Seven’s intimidating. I love it.

–Teri Garr was the perfect one for the unsuspecting blonde. Her mod look is so period, even including her oddly shaped purse. The bit with the typewriter is great. What’s fun, too, is when Gary Seven

realizes she’s not who he thought. This whole first scene is terrific. True love will bloom.

–As a fan of the space program, I love the theme of this story and the intrigue that included it.

For me, Star Trek: Assignment: Earth was a lot of fun. It’s a shame the pilot wasn’t picked up.
