Have Gun - Will Travel: The Misguided Father is a bit of a different episode; certainly, it began in a fashion that wasn’t the norm. It begins with Paladin (Richard Boone) discovering a friend of his dead. As a friend, he

decides to take the body back to the man’s hometown. There, he quickly learns that the townsfolk aren’t very sociable.

Harry Carey Jr. guest starred as Sheriff Stander, who goes through the show with no love lost for the dead man or for Paladin. He remains staunch for the bit. He’s a cold character.

What Paladin spends most of the thirty minutes doing is trying to discover who a murderer is. Frankly, this is another one of those times when I just didn’t care.

The story was a bit convoluted, as was Paladin’s involvement with it all.

The characters were too stoic and stereotypical. There wasn’t anything fresh or exciting. It was another town of strangers for Paladin to deal with, but there wasn’t really

a message or story that intrigued. Sure, in the end the guilty party is found, but like I mentioned with Carey Jr’s character, there wasn’t much change. I guess you would say I was disappointed.

Personally, I’d pass on this episode. It’s very average.
