I’m really a relatively lazy person. I’ll admit it. I like to find work out routines that are easy on my body while still getting done what needs to get done. I have a problem with my back resulting from sciatica that can be somewhat painful when I walk to downright debillitating, and I know I need to be really careful about the kinds of exercises I involve myself in. I walked to work the other day, which is only about two miles away, but by the time I got there, I was practically limping because the sciatica was causing shooting pains to radiate down my entire leg. We used to live in a complex that provided free access to a 24 hour gym and one of my favorite pieces of equippment to use, and one that was easiest on my back, was the bicycle in which you

could lean back in a comfortable chair and prop your legs in front of you and cycle that way, verses actually sitting up like you’re riding a real bike. I felt I got the best work out from this machine and never experienced any pain.

Now we live in a small two bedroom condo, with no access to a free gym, and we simply don’t have the room to invest in a full scale exercise bike, so when I saw the Stamina InStride Folding Cycle, I knew I absolutely had to have it. It folds in half and is really just the petals that rest on a stand. I could have my comfortable floor chair that I bought a while back, lean it up against the back of the couch, and then set the Stamina InStride Folding Cycle in front of me and get to work. It seemed ...

      • like a wonderful idea and I loved the fact it folded neating and conveniently in half and I could store it in my closet in such a way I hardly knew it was there. Not only that, but it wasn’t all that heavy to carry around either, though I certainly wouldn’t want to lug it up and down several staircases or anything like that.

I can sit on my couch, my computer desk chair, I can take it to work with me and use it in the back room while on break if I wanted to. It’s fantatically creative in its design and it’s only $40, so I was totally sold on it. My husband kind of laughed because he knew how addicted I was to the exercise bike at the gym I was hitting every day, and how I missed that equipment, and he was real supportive

when I brough it home. And I loved the fact it had a tension control option so you could add a little more oomph to your workout. I use this foldable little bike every single day for an hour when I get home from work and I’m just sitting and watching tv, or even when I’m on the computer. You can even prop it up on a desk and use it with your arms, but I found that to be a little awkward and it seemed that all the convenience and likeability of it was lost when I tried to get creative with its multiple uses. I just stick with it purely as a workout for my legs, especially on days when my sciatica is acting up but I need to exercise anyway, and I love it. It’s been a life saver, and I can feel my back getting better every single day.
