  • Now I think the lemon pepper butter is pretty good and it's definitely rich, but it's either too strong or the cauliflower and the broccoli are too weak in flavor
  • The sauce spices up the vegetables and adds a lot of lemon flavor to the vegetables, and while I like the sauce, it does seem to dominate over the natural vegetable flavors, and that's kind of disappointing

I’m not quite as wild about this vegetable medley, compared with the others sold under the Great Value brand at Walmart in the can and in the frozen food section. First of all, neither the cauliflower nor the broccoli taste like much. They’re both somewhat bland, and what flavor is present is almost completely concealed by the lemon pepper butter. Now I think the lemon pepper butter is pretty good and it’s definitely rich, but it’s either too strong or the cauliflower

and the broccoli are too weak in flavor. Fresh broccoli has more flavor than the broccoli used in this vegetable medley.

The carrots, on the other hand, hold up a little better despite the strong lemon pepper sauce. While the carrots are not the slightest bit crispy, they’re still a welcomed addition to this vegetable medley because they taste good. The zucchini is quite strong too in flavor, and it’s a little on the crispy side too, which was nice. It wasn’t ...

      • quite as soft as the carrots, cauliflower and broccoli were. Those are the four vegetables included in this vegetable medley, and as I said, there’s a slightly creamy lemon pepper sauce too. The sauce spices up the vegetables and adds a lot of lemon flavor to the vegetables, and while I like the sauce, it does seem to dominate over the natural vegetable flavors, and that’s kind of disappointing. Rather than complement the vegetables, it conquers them.

The bag vegetables need to be

steam cooked, and that helps keep some of the flavor from being removed from the vegetables during the cooking process. This makes for a satisfying, but not outstanding, side dish to go with a meal with meat and potatoes, but at almost a dollar twenty five for a sixteen ounce bag, it’s not quite good enough for me to purchase regularly. I wish that the vegetables were crispier and more flavorful, and since they’re not, I can only rate this vegetable medley product a “5″.
