Amongst the public universities in the Philippines, PUP is assuredly the only school with the lowest tuition fees to offer. Most of the population of Filipino college students who opted not to study in private schools because of budget restrictions prefers Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

The said institution has branches all over the country which made it accessible to students in the provinces. Varieties of courses are available from business

courses, engineering, communications and education. When it comes to school performance, PUP is in line with state universities with top-producing board passers especially in Engineering and Accountancy. PUP also made a name in the Guinness Book of World Records by getting a hold of the title to make the largest human rainbow.

Of course this school is not free from imperfections, as it has been the most publicized university in the ...

      • Philippines during the current and previous years, and it already received too many criticisms because of scandals and other issues. The school facilities were marked not conducive for learning. Based on my observations most of the chairs, boards and tables were already distorted and candidates for replacement. Their library is the biggest library in Southeast Asia but it is almost empty and we find it more suitable for sleeping with
its spacious rooms and wide tables. The university is overcrowded and at times they are forced to accept students beyond their capacity.

As an alumnus of PUP I’m proud to say that despite the imperfection of my Alma Mater, I was able to learn more things in school and in life. In PUP, experience will be your best teacher which you can never find in any other school in the Philippines.
