Dairy Queen Restaurant. Corner Franklin and Curtis Roads. Boise Idaho The kids that were working there were great. They were helpful, friendly and service oriented.

The prices weren’t bad and the place was clean and well cared for. The food? Well, here is where we run into problems. I had a plain ol’ double cheeseburger, a hot dog and some french fries.

The cheeseburger was good. It was cooked well and it was tasty. The hot dog? Well, how can you ruin a hot dog? The fries were a problem.

They were waaaay overdone. It was sort of like eating a long potatoe chip. My wife had a mushroom burger and they over reached themselves here.

      It was adequately cooked ...

      • and the food was hot’. but tasty? No. Not even close.

In fact, my wife just plain didn’t like the flavor and couldn’t eat more than a couple of bites. I used to own a small fast food restaurant and one of the first things you learn is to stick with the basics. Good burgers, good fries and nothing fancy.

        Fancy

stuff belongs to fancy restaurants with well paid, experienced cooks who take pride in their work. When you are a drive in. just be a drive in.

Would I go back? Probably, because they are close to home and friendly people. But I’ll stick to a cheeseburger and let them keep the fries. On a scale of 1 to 10′I’ll go with a six.
