The Girl Scouts, which has been in existance for about ninety years, has now devised a system of giving to honor men and women in the United States Armed Forces. Now, when Girl Scouts are selling cookies, if someone is on a diet or does not like sweets, they can purchase a box of cookies for a soldier for our military troops. The Girl Scouts will make a stockpile of all donation cookies, which do include

all varieties, and send those boxes to troops who have sacrificed the luxurires of living at home with their families to represent our country. I think that this system of remembering those who will not be spending the holidays at home and who deerly miss their loved ones, is just one small way that each of us can contribute towards giving them each a smile! For three dollars and fifty cents, we are not only encouraging ...

      • girls who are Girl Scout members to continue in their mission of community activism, but we are also going to bed at night knowing that in some small way, we have done something to make a soldier smile! I for one, commend the Girl Scouts for creating such a wonderful giving program. I love the idea because it allows children and adults to work together for a greater good despite generational gaps. Those bonds between
the young and the old for a greater good can be highly valuable to both parties, and I think it is just a wonderfully low cost way of saying thankyou to a soldier for representing our country and protecting us, as citizens! I give the Girl Scouts a big 10 for this outstanding idea, and I hope that this year during their cookie sale season, which will start in February, they will have great success marketing this program!
