The Walking with Dinosaurs series aired on the Discovery Channel. It consisted of a weeklong miniseries and several specials made afterwards. The Giant Claw was one of them.

In this special, a nature show host pretended to go back in time and see the dinosaurs. Computer graphics and animation was used

to make it seem as if he were actually in the Jurassic period, watching these creatures firsthand.

It was a pretty seamless blend of animation and photography to create the effect that he was actually there interacting with and running from dinosaurs. It was a very interesting premise, and it was done well.

In this episode, he went back 75 million years in order to find the answer to a mystery that has confounded scientists for many years. A 28 inch claw was discovered in the 1950s — but there was no more of a body to go with it.

bigger than a velociraptor claw, and even bigger than the T. Rex claw.

So what horrible monster could’ve had it as its claw? The answer is surprising. Eventually, the scientist comes face-to-face with the creature of the claw — and it’s a big surprise.

Leading up to the surprise, the man

has an encounter with vicious velociraptors as well a strange plant eaters. He is on the run from a pack of velociraptors that chase him through the woods in a very scary sequence.

I like the idea of this as well as the mystery that unfolded in a very interesting manner. It was a good show.
