Highway Patrol: Plane Crash deals with California Highway Patrol Chief Dan Mathews overseeing the discovery of a possible plane crash. The small plane is found, all in one piece, but nearby is the body of a dead forest ranger. Naturally, there are many questions that come up.

I am still amazed how much I tend to think

‘wow, what a difference’ between how things are conducted today versus the 50’s when this show was produced. The procedures are just night and day sometimes.

Ultimately, the story turns into a kidnapping case. What’s fun is when that turns into conspiracy. I love the transitions this half hour show makes. While some may think ...

      • it’s obvious, it’s very well done and not so obvious in the end.

However, this is a lot of overacting in this episode. The mother of the kidnapped girl is played by Helen Brown and the daughter is played by Gloria Grant. Both are unconvincing. The odd thing to me, too, is that they talk about

the daughter like she’s six years old, but this gal is a young woman or at least an older teenager. While there is a comment about her perhaps being mentally unstable to a degree, it’s not well written and the acting is just plain bad.

I like watching this series, but it’s not the best one they ever did.
