  • It becomes boring only a few minutes in when you realize that the story is going nowhere, and I could not justify watching this episode more than once
  • Making fun of pro wrestling is something that was the thing to do 10 years ago, but I don't think it is exactly topical at the moment

The point of South Park is to put ignorant children into adult situations, knowing they would have no idea what was going on. While it has strayed from this ideal a quite a bit, it is nice to see an episode that involves many of the major characters at once. In this episode, the kids of the town start a wrestling league that involves no actual wrestling, while a real wrestling teacher becomes angry. That is it,

there is no plot outside of this, and this is this episodes major downfall.

As the kids watch wrestling on TV, they learn that wrestling is mostly acting and talking, so this is what they do in their own wrestling league. Townies gather around, enthralled by this, as the real wrestling teacher gets mad at the fact that wrestling has taken a backseat to the TV stuff. There is simply no plot outside of this, no twists, no ...

      • turns, no sideplots. It becomes boring only a few minutes in when you realize that the story is going nowhere, and I could not justify watching this episode more than once.

Making fun of pro wrestling is something that was the thing to do 10 years ago, but I don’t think it is exactly topical at the moment. Sure, all the characters are there, but the plot never progresses or takes any turns. When you have this huge

cast of good characters, and you use exactly none of them to their potential, you end up with a bland plot. Even when the climax of the episode arrives, you just can’t believe they manage half an hour on this.

This episode has the basics that most episodes these days lack, but there is just no reason to watch it. Truly a mid-season filler episode who’s only place is to keep you warm till the next week.
