The Shanghai aquarium is located in Lujiazui across the Huangpu river in Pudong. Although it seems in a rather strange location seemingly worlds away from the rest of Shanghai- it is a great place to visit if you love marine life.

Unlike the disappointing and rather depressing Shanghai zoo, the aquarium is

      clean and well looked after.

The animals generally look healthy, although some of their cages are obviously too small.

The animals are easy to view, and the aquarium is set up in such a way as to promote the best viewing possible.

The Shanghai aquarium boasts the longest tunnel by which ...

      • you can observe the marine life in its natural environment.

The huge fish, sharks, and sea turtles are absolutely fascinating, and if you come at the right time you can watch them feed the animals as well.

My only complaints were that it was a little expensive to get in, (however, caring

for animals and keeping their area sanitary has its price.

) and that the aquarium also isn’t very big, it’s actually a little small, but that’s no big deal.

The quality of the aquarium makes up for both of these little failings.

This is one stop you wont want to miss.
