The Tippmann A-5 paintball gun (also called markers) is one of the best-known guns out there, for a few (ok, more than a few) reasons. Mainly, the revolutionary Cyclone Feeder prevents the chopping of paintballs as they’re fed into the gun’s chamber. Anyone who plays paintball will tell you what a huge advantage this can be, as a ball break can mean several minutes or more of cleaning, which is time you don’t have in a firefight. The gun is very reliable as well.

      Tippmann is known

for high-quality products, and this gun is no exception. I haven’t once had a malfunction with mine, and I’ve had it for a couple years now. The way the entire marker is designed allows it to be easily field-stripped, aka taken apart.

Tippmann went one step further, and allows this to be done without tools. This also makes maintenance a breeze. The A-5 is the most customizable paintball marker on the market today.

It’s cyclone feed makes it ideal for a rapid firing rate, but at the same time can easily be modified into a one-shot kill sniper weapon. Stocks, foregrips, barrels, this gun can be modified to look and perform like anything you want. A 14 inch barrel on mine will do me just fine, something that can reach out and touch someone with rapid yet accurate fire.

The marker can also operate just fine on either CO2 or compressed air, without modification, adding to its versatility. The only flaw with the design is that the Cyclone Feed operates on CO2, drawn from ...

the tank when the gun is fired. This makes it use more gas than normal, hence you may run out of gas faster than you would with another gun.

The trade-off is well worth it however, and the amount of extra gas taken up is minimal. The gun may feel a bit heavy, even more so when you add a CO2 or compressed air tank to it. With a 12 or 20 ounce canister, the gun balances out nicely so you can take your shots with ease.

If you use a remote line, and prefer instead to have the canister attached to your body, a stock will also serve to balance the gun. Bottom line, the Tippmann A-5 paintball marker is an incredible gun. Capable of a fast fire rate without ball breaks, almost unlimited modification, and legendary reliability, the A-5 is a perfect choice for a paintball gun.

Priced around 180 dollars for the standard model, it’s not too expensive. If you don’t mind carrying around a couple pounds more, the Tippmann A-5 is one of the best markers out there.
