  • This CVS gel was really not sufficient to treat the problem
  • But, what I noticed and really liked the most about this gel is that it can be used on anything
  • We, unfortunately, have a spider problem around here, and we've got a bees nest somewhere nearby that we can't find, and every year someone in the house ends up stung and/or bitten by a spider
  • The gel does keep the are moisturized, and the lidocaine really helps to treat the discomfort, better I think then most kinds of bug bite creams and pain creams
  • I was impressed, though I'd warn that you be sure to read the directions and warnings pretty thoroughly, otherwise I'd have realized not to put it on my burn when the skin had broken open a bit

It’s getting to be that time of year now, and it’s important for me to keep all kinds of sunblocks and after sun lotions, which is why I went ahead and bought the CVS Aloe Vera Gel with Lidocaine and Menthol. I have to say I was a little skeptical about using a product with a menthol ingredient on a sunburn, but was willing to give it a shot. I figured the menthol, though a cooling agent, would also tingel and maybe even sting a little bit. See, I’m an incredibly pale woman who burns if I just look at the sun the wrong way. I was helping out at a yard sale a few weeks ago. It’s still cool here in Michigan, but that wont stop the sun from burning you. I had on a short

sleeve shirt and didn’t think to apply any sunblock, but within fifteen minutes, my friends were telling me how red and irritated my face and arms looked. When I went inside out of the sun, I could see how badly burned I managed to get in just that fifteen minute span of time. I’m a big baby when it comes to burn pains, so I had my husband running to the pharmacy to get me something to put on the burn. That’s when he got the CVS Aloe Vera Gel with Lidocaine and Menthol.

I actually got so burned in that short amount of time, that tiny little blisters started forming on my arms. And you know how a sunburn can itch. Well, I went to scratch it and managed to pop these tiny little blisters. It was ...

      • gross, and probably bordered on a second degree burn. This CVS gel was really not sufficient to treat the problem. The menthol actually DID burn because it stung inside those dozens of tiny little blisters. Of course, I’ve since used it on a couple different occassions when the burn wasn’t nearly so severe, and it actually was rather cooling and refreshing on those burns.

But, what I noticed and really liked the most about this gel is that it can be used on anything. We, unfortunately, have a spider problem around here, and we’ve got a bees nest somewhere nearby that we can’t find, and every year someone in the house ends up stung and/or bitten by a spider. Sure enough, two weeks ago, my oldes son ended up with what looked like a spider bite. It

swelled up pretty good, but not so much that I worried about a dangerous allergic reaction to the bite, so we just used this gel on it a few times every day. The gel does keep the are moisturized, and the lidocaine really helps to treat the discomfort, better I think then most kinds of bug bite creams and pain creams. It kept the area clean, and really did the job just as well as a more expensive type of neosporin or anti-sceptic cream. I was impressed, though I’d warn that you be sure to read the directions and warnings pretty thoroughly, otherwise I’d have realized not to put it on my burn when the skin had broken open a bit. Still, I give it a good rating. It has multi-purposes, and that makes it well worth the money.
