  • Although the track is credited to Lennon/McCartney, for some reason I feel like McCartney had more influence in the songwriting of this track and I have to say that I’m extremely impressed with his work on this track
  • When I typically think of McCartney’s best compositions I think of tracks like Yesterday, For No One, Blackbird, or Let It Be but I have to say that I feel quite bad for ignoring She’s Leaving Home
  • For those of you who have heard the track you’ll agree that the instrumentation is all outside instrumental and features no Beatle actually playing an instrument on it, McCartney and Lennon sing on the track but the rest of the instrumentation is more of a string section which gives an extremely interesting sound and it’s a nice change to the rest of Sgt
  • The lyrics to the track are excellent, and I believe written based on a true newspaper story which Lennon and McCartney read about, and I certainly have to praise McCartney’s vocal performance on this track, a very good delivery and performance

I’m aware that Lennon did have some influence on this track but it strikes me as being more of a McCartney track, and besides just the point that he ...
