From 1970, it’s Sammy Davis Jr. and Peter Lawford teaming up in One More Time, a movie in which the two are partners in crime, of the light variety. Davis is Charles Salt and Lawford is Christopher Pepper. Pepper has a twin mustache. When one of them dies, the twin sticks by Salt’s side.

The kink in the armor of the story is that there are some real bad guys who are after one of the Peppers, and that creates havoc and a whole lot of misunderstanding.

One More Time has one of those Hollywood surreal endings where Davis and Lawford step out of their roles and become themselves.

It’s a two minute bit that is probably better than the rest of the movie. A lot of people wouldn’t like it, but I tend to adore that kind of tongue and cheek.

This is a definite B-movie, but it has two members of the Rat Pack at the helm, and I love the Rat Pack, faults and all, so for me, this was a fun evening of entertainment.
