Highway Patrol: Reformed Criminal stars Lee Roberts as a man transporting thousands of dollars when he has an automobile accident. This sics the California Highway Patrol on his trail. The kicker is that the man, Frank Wood, is really Frank McCauley, and he has a troubled past. This means that the only one who believes he’s not trying to steal the loot is Pastor Martin Rock,

      played by House Peters Jr.

Viewers aren’t sure what is up with McCauley. We really can’t tell by his actions whether he’s innocent or guilty. When he’s captured, Chief Dan Mathews and his men had to the farmhouse where he’s reported to be. The plot thickens when the owner of the place is found unconscious with McCauley nowhere in sight.

      • or 8 minutes. It did something different, and it’s not something that has played out quite this way that often. It’s the proverbial moment of truth for McCauley. I like the way Roberts plays it because there are a lot of doubts. It’s not just ‘okay, I’ll do this.’ There’s actually some back and forth, and even when he makes his choice, he goes forward
and pauses, as if wanting to reaffirm the choice. Then he backs it up even more.

The amazing part is that the Highway Patrol stays back and allows the decision to happen. Even more so, they don’t interfere. They let McCauley proceed on his own. From a logistics point of view, I’m not sure how realistic it was, but drama wise, it was superb.

        This show gets an A.
