I was utterly surprised at how short and simple this global phenomenon was. I thought I would have to squeeze my brains out to understand the message so much so that when I got to the end of it, I couldn’t believe that the message was staring straight at me all along!

The thing that I loved so much about The Alchemist is its sense of

mysticism and culture. It was set in places where the world’s spotlight has yet to reach. How Coelho made these places and people come to life made the story very rich and colorful. That I think is what makes the plot believable, the setting is somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of suburbs and congested cities. It really allows the person to sit back ...

      • and think about what they want to do with life.

Now that I look back after reading the book, Santiago IS in every person. It’s just a matter of how vocal or decided they are about what they want to do with their lives. I don’t think that Santiago wasted his time wandering the desserts of of Egypt, his journey made him grow and allowed him

to appreciate what he came back for in Spain. I think everyone should travel and go out of their comfort zones early in life so that when they come back, they have a whole gamut of life experiences and stories that will make them more confident and excited to face the challenges that lie ahead. We can get something out of the great unknown after all.
