My daughter loves VeggieTales. So, I was glad when I could load a bunch of movies and TV episodes for her on our Netflix player.

One of the short movies I was able to find for her, just in time for Easter, was An Easter Carol.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this particular movie.

But, it turned out to be a pretty decent one.

Basically, it was a re-telling of A Christmas Carol.

The only difference was it took place at Easter.

The central character was a factory owner who made plastic eggs for a living and he wanted to tear down the local church to make way for a ...

This, of course, is not something that the other citizens in town are happy with but they are powerless to stop him.

The rest of the movie has him being visited by an angel (who is a human rather than a vegetable for some strange reason) and being shown the error of

        his way.

Specifically, the angel teaches him how Easter is a holiday of hope; something the town would lose if it didn’t have its church.

It wasn’t as good as other VeggieTales movies but it was definitely something worth watching at the same time.

I think it will be an Easter tradition; at least until both my girls outgrow the series.
