No matter how many times I re-read this book, the same giddy feeling of finishing a happy ending book bubbles up inside my system. Whitney, My Love surely hits the right spots for making the hopeless romantic really feel hopeless. I mean, it made it more challenging for all readers to find this kind of love, this kind of relationship. The story set in 1816 is about a freckled face girl who has a hundred and one antics made just to get the attention of the town’s

heartthrob and was sent to France to learn some manners.

It was basically a romanticized story of the ugly duckling. Whitney Stone, was transformed into the most sought after woman in both France and England and was saving herself for the same town’s heartthrob. Only this time, England’s most eligible bachelor took fancy to Whitney’s quick wit and beauty.

This is the kind of book you’d want to be placed on top of your bedside table. What I love most of this book is that facial description is detailed. I can picture out the face of the characters, their clothes and the setting of the story.

Descriptions are so vivid that you can actually draw out the kind of face to connect with the character. The plot of the story may even happen at present times. Despite of the technology, miscommunication and misreading of situation can still happen and may lead to a disaster.

younger age even until she was presented to the ton as a young lady. She has the temper of the lioness and never backs away from anything.

She is not shy like most of the women. She is everything a modern woman should be. An equal partner.

And Clayton, the mysterious Duke of Claymore. The duke who always get what he sets his mind and heart at, can get his way with Whitney. He is controlling while she is too stubborn to recognize

      any rules.

That made them a very strong couple because both have passion. The ending of the story closed on Clayton and Whitney’s reconciliation where Clayton bathe Whitney. It was very touching.

Sad thing though because it did not end after Whitney delivered Clayton’s baby and how Clayton made up for all of his mistreatment to Whitney caused by his paranoid assumptions of her actions. But still, the best love story ever. As long as its made by Judith Mcnaught it will surely melt your heart out.
